New! PKT Rotax Pipe Mounts

3/9/2008

PKT's new Rotax pipe mount addresses issues that others do not. Our CNC machined billet mount comes as a complete kit requiring no additional hardware. The PKT mount isolates the pipe from the chassis and attaches to each frame rail while equalizing the distribution of the load. The PKT pipe mount has a black anodized finish and is available for 28mm, 30mm & 32mm frame rails.

Congratulations to drivers Cody Humphreys and Nick Neri

The WKA George Kugler Manufacturer’s Cup kicked off their 2007 Season this past weekend in Jacksonville, Florida. PKT's drivers Cody Humphreys and Nick Neri put on quite a show. Cody brought home his first national win of the 2007 season in the Yamaha Jr. Sportsman class. Cody was followed closely by Nick who came from 10th to capture second place. Cost:

The fee will be $40 per driver for those that register by July 8, 2006, and $60 for those that register after July 8, 2006, up to the time of qualifying. The fee will cover the whole weekend of racing. Everyone in attendance will be charged a $10 pit pass fee for the total weekend. Every driver will receive a trophy and a T-shirt commemorating the occasion. Every kart will also require a transponder. If you do not own or have access to a transponder, we will have them available for rent at the track for a cost of $10 for the weekend.

Race Format:

We will run a restricted and an unrestricted class. Both classes will run rain or shine (rain tires will be required if the event is ran in the rain). The parents of the driver will decide which class the driver will run. The class the driver will participate in must be declared at time of registration. Each driver can only participate in one class. The race format is designed to ultimately end up with a single Kid Kart National Champion within each class (one for restricted and one for unrestricted). The top five in each class will also be honored with an identifying trophy. All drivers will receive a participation trophy.

Qualifying

Qualifying will be a continuous loop of karts properly spaced on the track at the same time. As one exits the track another kart will enter the track. Each kart will enter the track and complete two full laps. This process will be done twice essentially giving each driver a total of four laps. The best lap of the four laps will be recorded as the Qualifying lap time for the driver.

Heat Races

The line up for the Heat Races will be determined by the Qualifying times. The total number of Heat Races for each class will be determined by establishing groups as identified below. The decision as to the number of karts within each group is at the sole discretion of the Race Director with the understanding that the groups within each class will be equalized so that the approximate same number of karts will be run together with each race. The run order for each Heat Race will be determined by placing the fastest qualifying time on pole in the first group, the second fastest qualifying car as the pole in the second group, and so on down the qualifying list until each group is filled. Below is a pictorial example of how the Heat Race line-up will work:

Qualifying Times Heat Group #1 Heat Group #2 Heat Group #3 1. Driver A 1. Driver A 1. Driver B 1. Driver C 2. Driver B 2. Driver D 2. Driver E 2. Driver F 3. Driver C 3. Driver G 3. Driver H 3. Driver I 4. Driver D and so on. and so on. and so on. 5. Driver E 6. Driver F 7. Driver G 8. Driver H 9. Driver I and so on down the list.

The Heat Races will consist of a rolling start 10 lap format and will determine who automatically advances to the Feature race. Automatic advancement will be determined by dividing 15 spots by the total number of heat groups for the class (rounded up to the nearest whole number). For example, if we have five heat groups within a class, we will divide 15 spots by five heat groups and automatically advance the top three drivers from each of the five Heat Groups (15 divided by 5). The lineup for those drivers that automatically advance will be determined by a Pre-Feature race. Those karts that did not automatically advance will be entered into a Second Chance Race for a chance at qualifying for the Feature.

Second Chance Races

The Second Chance Races will be setup exactly like the Heat Races. The groups will be reestablished using the original Qualifying time. The only difference will be that the karts that advanced automatically will not be in the Second Chance Race which will in effect realign the groups to some extent. The winner from each group in the Second Chance Races will advance to the Feature and will occupy positions further back in the line-up than those that automatically advanced during the Heat Races. The position that the Second Chance drivers occupy will be determined by their run group. The winner of the first group will occupy the first spot behind the karts that advanced during the first Heat Race. The winner of the second group will take the second available position behind those karts that advanced after the Heat Race. So on down the list.

Pre-Feature Race

For those karts that automatically advanced because of their finishing position in the Heat Races, a rolling start Pre-Feature will be ran to determine their line-up order for the Feature. The karts will be initially lined-up per their original Qualifying time and ran for 10 laps. Their finishing order will determine their spot in the Feature race.

Feature Race

The Feature Race will conclude the day. The Feature Race will be a rolling start 15 lap main event. The line-up for this race will be determined as defined above in the descriptions of the Second Chance and Pre-Feature Races.
